Hi.

Many of us know Walter and many more of us have been helped by Walter in this forum, helping alot of us solve our CCS coding problems.

This morning I received an E-mail from Walter's father asking that I let his friends and associates in this forum know that Walter is seriously ill.

He is in intesnive care and will be disconnected from the machines tomorrow.

His father did not explain what that would mean to Walter but I have asked he keep us updated.

I know we are all very sorry to hear this and expect Walter will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I will update this post as I learn more information.

:-(

Hello everybody.

Thank you John for posting this on time. Yesterday I got Kempees's father email but unfortunately I was able to read it late today. He wrote: "Walter is critically ill and is now in an intensive care unit, fighting for his life."

I am so sorry to read this because Walter is a very friendly and helpful person. I personally got very professional and valuable help from him in this forum, through all these years.

Let's pray for his complete recovery soon.

Regards

this is very, very sad news. Walter has helped me out a lot of times in the past and, as I'm living in the Netherlands too, I feel very related to him. I can only hope ...

John and joejac,

Thanks for the update!

If Walter's dad is reading this... pass on that Rick wishes his best and expects to see him back here soon dueling with me over who has the best answer the fastest!!! One thing I know about Walter is he is a strong man with a strong will. I expect that whatever ails him he will beat... just because he never likes to lose.

Rick

Hi All

Thanks for your comments here. I have and will continue to pass all these on to Walter's dad in the hopes he will be able to read them to him.

Mambo.. I have asked his father for information as how to send stuff to Walter as well as an update on Walter.

I have not heard from Walter's father regading an update. I am sure today is a rough day for him as he said Walter will be taken off the machines today.

I will keep you all updated as soon as I hear anything.

I'm not a religious person. I have my own religion, and I prayed all day for Walter.

If you guys send something to Walter, please count me in.

because his condition is improving? or because the machines are no longer helping? let's hope for the former.

Sorry, I'm a reader here since 2006 and always noticed Walter was a part of CCS, because he was always to help everybody who needed it.

I didn't had any contact with him, but I'm sure I'll miss him as everybody does here.

Somebody can say something more about him that the short line in his profile? Who is he out this forum? Country? Age? ...

Hi

Here is an update on Walter's condition from his Mother & Father. It could be some good news as well!!

Subject: CCS community and Walter's update

Hallo John,

In the first place my wife and I are very grateful for responding to my first e-mail.

We are overwhelmed with the response from the CCS community.

What happened to Walter; in short: Four weeks ago it started with an infection on his ankle.

He was treated for it but it went from bad to worse. He ended up in intensive care and the doctors were fighting for his life.

He was kept in an artificial coma, got kidney dialysis an was on respirator.

It turned out that he had a vicious bacteria affecting his liver, kidneys, eyes.

He needed support for the heart because of sudden drops in the blood-pressure.

Today they intended to take him off all the machines because it was incurable.

This morning however, the specialist had found out that a cocktail of two antibiotics could do the trick and tried it out; tests have shown that the failing functions started to work again and so there is a sparkle of hope again!

Friday we will have a new interview with the specialist and hope that Walter gets a new chance to live.

We are very grateful for all your good wishes and prayers and hope the day will come that we can show all the CCS forum members' responses to Walter.

At this moment he is unconscious and very far away.

With kindest regards from Walter's parents,
Roy and Els Kempees
