HI Folks.
I have a large grid that I have surrounded the columns with Panels. I was wondering if there is a programatical way to loop through the Panels setting their visibility to False.
I can then turn them on when required under program control.
Many thanks
Dave

Is setting the panels in the Grid in Design mode initialy Visible:No
an option?
You then just have to do one row, all panels.
And still programaticaly able to turn them on.
Another option is to do this BeforeShow but then you would have to name and set each one.
Messes up your HTML though.

Thanks Walter.
What I am trying to do is to create some views with a lot of fields, and then use this to create tables with a lot of columns.
Initially all of the columns are hidden except the first which is the main KEY_ID for the record (and this is also a link). The use can then select which columns they want to be made visible and thus one can make a very flexible listing screen.
Ofcourse - when one gets to about 100 columns manually going through in design time and setting each header and data columm to Visible:No can take some time :>
So I was looking for a quicker solution.
However <thinks> as I do have access to the record set.. and the fields are the same name as the columsn I could programatically get the ASP page to writre the code to hide the panels for me :>,
Take Care
Dave

Hi Walter.
Took about a minute - and yes - I have generated the code needed and cut and pasted it back into the project :>
It works.
Take care
Dave

Fun, good job.
I also thought about opening the .ccs and doing it in text mode search/replace.
'till next time.
