I would like to modify the sample forum included with CCS4 so that when you reply to a thread the Topic and Author fields have a default value instead of being blank.

The values I want are "RE:Topic Name" and "First Name" "Last Name".

I have been searching this forum for a while, can someont point me to a piece of code or a link?.

I know practically nothing about programming in .asp ( that's why I purchased CCS in the first place ) ;-)

I'll re-phrase this a bit.

When you post a reply or start a new thread using the forum example that comes with CCS, the "Topic" textbox and the "Author" textbox are blank by default.

I have my forum permissions set so that you must be logged in to post, so what I would like to do is have the "Author" box automatically show the posters "first name" and "last name" from the users table.

When posting a reply, I would like the "Topic" box to automatically reference the thread being replied to.

Is there a simple way of doing this that does not require a great deal of new code?

Thanks
