Last night, all our web applications were running just fine. this morning, All our web applications are erroring out with messages like :

Quote :
error '8002801d'

Library not registered.

/apps/OnlineOrder/Template.asp, line 438

We are not able to figure out what is going on? Same errors come up regardless of version of CCS we use (2.3, 3.0 or 4.0)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

MB: have you contacted support (http://support.yessoftware.com)
They might be able to help you fast.
Other option is to check with your ISP/Internal server management department to see if any software updates have been interfering with your apps or any processes have been stopped.

Sounds like the latter.

Hi Walter,

Yes, I submitted request with support and tried phoning but no response yet - must be too early in the morning for them or something.

We are the ISP dept around here, unfortunately. Looks like someone installed some windows updates this morning and it is my guess that it hosed up something but I don't know exactly what, nor do I know what to look for in the registry that we haven't already tried to look at.... We have also rebooted the server more than once to try to ensure all processes needed are up and running.

Thanks for your input! It is appreciated.

What OS?
have you tried rolling back the updates, might make things worse though?

OS is Win 2000, running IIS 5

Have not yet rolled back updates but considering doing so...

It seems to be DLL that is not working correct on the server e..g. damaged, wrong version, incorrect permissions etc.

now the only thing in template.asp that gets referenced close to that line is RegExp - I suggest finding out in which library this is and reinstall, reregister it. (may the actual scripting dll?)

anyhow google references a lot of question arround permissions on IIS as well for this error code perhaps try that 1st?

from MSDN

Run-time error –2147319779 (8002801d)
Automation error
Library not registered

Solution
This problem is external to Commerce Server. You must rebuild your computer because some of the primary DLLs are not registered.

The error is generated by VBScript.RegExp in VBScript.dll. VBScript.dll depends only on system DLLs and Msvcrt.dll.

Thank you. I've been browsing Google results but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for with this stuff. I'll pass it onto my Networking team member and see if it helps him.

Yes! It was the VBScript.dll -- THANK YOU! Once that dll was re-registered on the server, the apps worked again. Oh and yes, it was the RegExp object in the Template.asp file that was complaining.

thank you again (and Walter too)

no problem - I should be working - but can't get started - so at least I helped someone and I don't need to feel so guilty ;-)

LOL! :-D

Well, I definitely thank both of you VERY much. I've learned A LOT this morning. I usually focus on the programming and let others worry about these issues so this was good, even though stressful! :-)

Have a great weekend!
