Hi
I am an MS Access programmer now trying to do on the web what I have learnt to do in Access. I use CCS4 with XP pro and ASP. One construction I frequently set up in Access is this:
On a tabular form view you click on a record (usually the key field) and a new form is displayed showing the selected record (in form view) and zero or more subform records of a table linked to the first table. To me it would have been helpful if there were a builder in CCS4 (or prehaps future CCS5) to achieve this. I have managed to build the form/subform page but have so far failed to automatically display the selected record. It always comes up with first record. Does somebody know I pick up the key field value and force the display of the corresponding record. I noticed that there is no 'onclick' event for the link field (key field in the first table view) so I tried to add a button in each record of the table and add the code to its onclick event but apparently I made a mistake because it did not work either. Is there an easier way? If not what is the correct code to use?
