Friends,

Based upon the many references to and the expressed need for a Wiki, CCSWiki was created and is available to us all.

The CCSWiki, as it is called now, can be found here
wiki.consultair.eu

At this moment in time it is empty, but (Wikistyle) it is up to the community to fill it.
few requests:
- Use the login/create account feature, if you intend to contribute (please do!)
over the coming week login will be made mandatory for editors/contributors.
- suggest a good domain name for the wiki.

Walter

Thanks to Walter for setting this up and for the time he spends in these forums helping out.

This is VERY exciting. I have expressed concern in the past about the viability of user-generated documentation but I'm willing to give it a try and even try and contibute myself as time (and my ability) allows.

A couple of thoughts I had on this...

1) in addition to brand new articles (is "article" the correct term?) it would be nice to have articles that expand on existing documentation, maybe with additional verbiage, examples, etc.

2) I'd like to see a series of very brief tips and tricks

3) could we have an area for requests so users could ask for a particular article?

4) I'd like to see user-generated example packs for new features and old ones that were never fully covered

Just some thoughts for now...

Another thought...related to a similar post elsewhere in the forums.

What happens with regard to ownership of the Wiki? I'd like to think it won't become an invaluable resource only to have it taken away due to copyright, product infringement, etc.

It would be nice if Yes made a public statement supporting (or at least authorizing) the project.

Maybe nothing is needed. I'm just not clear on whether there is any issue with this.

@grewire
If you mean content, you're right not much there.

I am building the Wiki, adding all the common parts like Help for editors etc.

But, the purpose of a Wiki is to have a means of contributing, please do.

@all:
The Wiki should be functional, as long as you register and log in.
All registered/logged in users can contribute, or edit each others contributions.

I have the contents of the docs4 available.
Am considering what part of it to place in the Wiki as a starting point ??
Someone start a discussion and we will move from ther on, two pages have been added but no content yet.

Let's go!
Walter

I don't see anything at all on there.

What I may be able to contribute are some of the techniques I have employed over the years of using CCS, so I would like to see a well organized section for "how do I do this?" types of hints. I think I have done some pretty interesting things with CCS that go well beyond its basic functionality. I am also using it to create parts (maybe all of) the latest project I am working on (trixbox ce) so I expect to be pushing the limits (ajax, modular design, etc).

I would put my stuff on there if for no other reason than for my own reference since I sometimes forget my tricks and have to look at old code.. :)

Maybe we can get a copy of the documentation to add to the wiki (if it is possible). Maybe we should put in a request to peterr. Just my 2 cents...
