I created an updateable grid with a search option. When I used the default data source, table, everything works fine.

When I change the source to be SQL (I need a customized statement), the delete checkbox disappears!!

What's causing that? Bug?

When I revert from SQL to table, the delete checkbox is back.

Weird . . .

Can someone shed some light to this mystery?

No mistery.
As you stated you changed the default generated SQL to a
'customized'statement.
As of that moment CCS can no longer predict the correct Update/Delete
statements.
CCS however provides you with an o so easy way of defining custom update and
custom delete.
Look at the properties of your Egrid, it will show you properties for custom
Insert Update and Delete.
Also these are described in Help and online docs.

That makes sense :-) I have never used custom insert update delete. I'll go through the docs. Thanks.
