CCS Locales

Problem:
I use the same pages in different projects. It is convenient in development and support.
In CCS23 copying files between projects was painless if you follow some rules.
For copied pages in both projects:
- same DB objects
- same DB connection name
- save security settings
- same Themes
In CCS3, in addition to above rules, pages with multilanguage support also need translations, stored in "<LangCode>.txt" files.
There is no tool in CCS3 package to check for translation problems in a project.

Objective: manage CCS3 locale files in multiple projects.
Functions:
- Read/show project languages
- Read/show project translations from ASP, CCP, HTML files
- Read/show project translations from locale/language files
- Show translations usage in ASP, CCP, HTML files
- Search for missing translations, when translations are used in project files, but missing in locale files.
- Add missing translations into locale files so that CCS3 will not reports errors at project generation.
- Search for empty translations, when translations are used in project files, but empty in locale files.
- Update empty translations in one place for all locale files and all translations.

TBD: add Translations repository so that missing/empty project translations can be copied from repository.

Files:
ReadMe.txt this file
ccs_locales.exe executable for Win32
ccs_locales.ini settings
LocaleLanguages.tps CCS locales
ProjectsLocations.tps example with data
ccs_locales.app sources - app-file, Clarion 5.5
ccs_locales.dct sources - dct-file, Clarion 5.5
SCS_locales.ico sources - icon-file

Usage:
This program does not require installation, and does not make changes in registry.
For usage you need these files in a separate folder:
ccs_locales.exe executable
LocaleLanguages.tps CCS locales

Updates:
2005.10.10
- CCS Locales 1.0-alpha
just solve my problems.

Update 2005.10.23 - CCS Locales 1.0-beta
+ added an option to fill empty Translations from other projects
Ex. :you can copy page from project A to B, and CCS3_locale will copy missing translations fm project A to B.
This is a replacement for planned Translations repository.
Pros: repository requires sync with live translations, this solution does not
Cons: not that I'm aware of
+ Translations in a new locale file will be sorted in apphabetical order
+ Added an option to save old locale file with extention .txt_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS
- bug fix for locale update, when translation update could affect next translation
+ minor cosmetic changes

Hi Vasily

a great tool - but i have the problem that we use MSSQL with UTF-8. In this case the encoding shown in this tool is not correct. You cannot see in the tool special characters as ü, ö, ä and other specials correctly.

regards
