this ist kind of a bug/behavior failure

do the following:

create a table in designview

right click on the TD and choose properties of TD
Click Design...
set a background-picture for the TD
click OK
click LIVE to open liveview-> Backgroundpicture will fail/not shown because the path is not updated, even if you publish the whole site(picture is not copied to server and path not updated)
if you put here a relative path like for example /images/pic.gif
the designview will fail because path not updated

i think this should be fixed, because such things are really a break in workflow.
i figuring out now dayslong just to try to do a application COMPLETE without any 3rd party product, but i more and more think its impossible for now, because CCS still lacks much if it goes to design tasks

but keep the work on, this IDE will rule if such "littel inconsitences" are fixed

I found a Workaround for the above problem:

place all data images and textfiles and whatever belongs to your Project into the webservers directory where the site will be
put if it is published. For example if you have a apache/WAMP installed
on your local computer, put everything into the local root folder of your website expl: c:\apache\htdocs\mysites\thissite
you can use folders and everything there without fear most inconsitences i found about Path-things.

SIDEEFFECTS: unfortuanally there is a "naging" sideeffect using this workaround
this is, if you do a liveview of a site while developing and then want switch back to designview you get a message all the time telling you, the file was modified outside of CCS and you have to choose Reload or not reload page, however it dosent matter what you choose in that dialog just click any of the buttons, but you have to do it...

If that's true (the image not being published) then perhaps the project is
set to not publish anythig except the html and code files. Click the project
property for published file types (the middle radio button) and edit the
list to add your filetype if it's not there.

If the path/folder appears in the project explorer and the file type is
defined as one that should be published, it will do so regardless of what
the file is, even if it's not referenced in the project code anyplace.
