Anyone have suggestions to where, besides this board, I can find someone to help with my CCS project? I've tried elance, guru, and linksurf; but CCS experts are few and far between; and YesSoftware don't seem to provide any kind of consultant list for potential employers like myself.

Thanks,

- Steve

Hello Steve,

This is a good place. There are quite some CCS gurus that lurk these forums
frequently. I, for one, am a professional programmer so i'll be delighted to
help you with your project. But there are a lot of other CCS experts that
either frequent or own places where you can get professional help. People
like Bill Noble at CodeChargeXchange (www.codechargexchange.com) from
England, or Don Bevis (know around here as DonB) at GotoDon
(www.gotodon.com) from USA, Our unknown friends at DataObjx.net (USA), or
Dave Rexel (Sweden), Femi Hasani (Feha from Sweden), and, ahem, myself (USA)
at RexDesign (ccs.ath.cx). So, not only you can get a pro to help you, you
can get one close to you. :)

Whatever you do and whoever you choose, make sure to ask for references and
actual examples (preferably in production) of their work.

Regards,
Sixto

Thanks Sixto,

I tried this Help Wanted board a while ago, but didn't have much luck. I then tried to build the online community myself using CCS and asking for additional help on the other boards, and found that people were more responsive there. However, I'm really pushing the envelope in terms of what I've seen CCS do; and don't have the time or energy to be the one chipping away and learning all the ins and outs, and pitfalls, of this very sensitive program.

You can see the results of my work, and what I'd like to eventually do, at http://fairchoice.org/Vote_Sizing/Community.html (Polls work the best). In case you, or anyone else, is interested in bidding for the project, here are some of the details from my Guru posting:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
... I'm flexible in terms of the backend engines and am open to switch away from PHP and mySQL if you can convince me why. The majority of the tables have been designed along with much of the GUI and about half of the forms. Here's a brief rundown of the different tasks I need done:

1. Security Levels: As you might tell, the goal here is to encourage people to discuss the content, join as members, and then upgrade to super-members. You can read the rough guidelines in the bottom left frame. (This probably means some finagling with security, which is already frustrating me already.)

2. Menu Driven: The tree interface needs to drive the content; which means working with frames and also dynamic menus.

3. Blog-like Comments: Many content pages (there's only a smattering up now) have "Discuss this page - x posts" links on the top right corner. They have to interact with the community; and open up the right page and set the tree when clicked.

4. Polls: Polls that are associated with web pages should work from those web pages updating the table and offering a link to view the results; much like the "Discuss..." feature above.

5. Page navigation: The "Previous" and "Next" buttons at the bottom of web pages should work off of the Websites table to navigate the site.

6. Amazon-like "Look-inside-the-book" feature for the content pages.

7. Picture uploads into the Members table.

... A document with screen shots and a lot more detailed information of what needs to be done, along with a dump of the mySQL tables, is posted at http://fairchoice.org/Vote_Sizing/VoteSizing_Online_Community_Tasks.doc.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm interested in hearing yours, or anyone else's, thoughts on this project. How long will it take? How much will it cost? Also, how little coding can be used in order to give me the most control with CCS? I agree that it's important to find people with a good background in CCS... which is why I was reluctant to use some of the other freelance services - because they don't always get the more experienced CCS programmers and some of the portfolios I see lack the real deep usage of CCS I need.

If you, or anyone else, are interested in bidding on this project, feel free to contact me at SteveG@Pali.Ca.

Thanks too for all the leads. I'm surprised that YS doesn't let us view each others profiles, which would be helpful in locating / providing consultation work.

You will be able to post your Project Requirements on www.DataObjx.net by the end of this week (week ending Aug 15, 2004).

The CCS Job Board will allow people, companies, etc to post project requirements and CCS Developers will then be able to bid on those projects, etc.

If you're not yet a member, register after reading this post. It's quick, easy and free.

When the "Jobs Board" goes up, you will be able to view, post and bid on projects.

In addition, the first issue of CCS Developer Magazine in almost ready for release (slated for release early next week). You won't want to miss the first issue which is free to all registered members.

We're looking forward to seeing you on-line.

DataObjx/CCS Developer Magazine has just released the CCS Project Job Board.

We encourage you to utilize this service today.

The Job Board application caters to your needs and provides a mechanism for conveying much more information than is available within a forum.

We hope that you will utilize the board and provide us with the feed-back we need to make it better.

Good Luck With Your Project!

I invite all CodeCharge Studio (resources sites and CSS Experts) to submit their links at:
http://www.coder24.com/cms/Links_MOD/index.php?TB=29&sec_id=29

Filtering is by country too so people from the same country can find someone near or at least in the same country to get help with CSS ...

regards

I've had good experiences with guru.com. Also if you need something that is ongoing and the budget it tight. I would look for dedicated outsourced employee at laborassistance.com.
