I need to validate before insert and before update.
I add errors where they exist, but the insert still happens. How do I stop the insert/update from beforre insert or before update?

The On Validate event should be used for this. See the examples at http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/ProgrammingTechn...Validation.html

I used the formstate and do different validation dependant on add or edit.

I don't recall now if formstate cannot be used in On validate, but eventually you could stop the insert or update execution via CmdExecution. Please refer to http://forums.codecharge.com/posts.php?post_id=48349
