Although it's possible with CCS to create dynamic tables using an array rather than a database connection as a datasource, it would be nice if there was some builder that allowed me to do it more easily, and also incorporate more functionality such as sorters etc.
That way I can generate grids etc from arrays returned by objects or functions etc instead of just a database. This approach would allow me to incorporate a more 3 tiered approach for more complex business logic, and maybe allow for more enterprise level functionality - using servlets or similar objects in php as datasources instead of databases, stored procedures, etc. Suddenly you could see a lot of java programmers interested in using CCS because they tend to be great on back end programming but need help on the front end - and CCS could really help them here.
As I see it, CCS is difficult to implement on an enterprise level where the site lives on more than one computer. As such CCS is missing out on a huge sector of the market - could be in a league with the big boys.

Seconded.
We have an application that returns an array of data as the result of a SOAP request and it would be great to be able to have a builder that supports the use of array-derived pseudo-rowsets and other data arrays.
