I've often found myself building quite complex queries especially to make editable grids highly searcheable but of course the query makes Editable Grid turn off insert update and delete. And then you have to resort to custom inserts.
So I could resort to a subquery as part of the where expression whilst still keeping inserts etc written automatically. BUT I can't because there is no support for the IN clause...
I could be going about this totally the wrong way!
Thoughtfully

Hi Ted,
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Custom Inserts & Updates but they are not that "custom" They may sound complex but they can be setup visually and usually this is as simple as opening the "Custom Insert" dialog (click [...] in Custom Insert property), selecting one table to update and then clicking "OK". Thus even when working with SQL your Inserts will be automated and shouldn't require programming.
Not sure if this will always be as simple but I recommend trying it and if you run into problems then we could think about solving those.
