Hey all.
Ok here is a problem. Couldnt find a solution to it even after a lot of testing. The page just crashes on me.
I have two Tables ...
Business:
bid, etc etc and cid.
Category:
cid,cname,cid_parent.
Wht i want to do is that during user registrtion for the table business i want to show two List Boxes.
1. Parent Category Names 2. Sub Categories.
Of course the sub categories should be populated accorfin to the values in Parent Category. SO when a user selects a subcategory from the sub-cat list, instead of the names that are displayed in the list, i want to store the cid of that subcategory of the CATegroy Table into the Business Table.
So when i am inserting the details inside business table i want the cid to come from a list box value which is populated from the sub category table. That list should only show names and insert the ids.
Thanks.

I have been trying to do the exact same thing and have not been able to figure it out yet.
Are you using mySQL for the backend by any chance? Just wondering.
If you get an outside forum reply on how to do this, please pass it along.

I make a clsOption, in javascript.
First you define in an array the datas of sub category : id_parent, id, text
The listbox is populated with id_parent and the value stored is id.
you have juste to add javascript code in footer page to select the correct value in the listbox.
Interested ?

Hi,
I have been looking for code for this as well. I have a search that I did in Code Charge and I need the one search field to populate based on the selection of the first field. Do you have the ccs file that I can look at as an example? I am relatively new to this and I have a project that I need to complete in three weeks.
Thanks.
