Hello,

We're preparing CodeCharge Studio 2.3 Beta release, which should be officially available within the next few days.
As our initial testing was positive I thought I'd post the link here for those who are not afraid to try anything and have time to spare during the upcoming holiday weekend:
http://download2.codecharge.com/CCStudio2_3.exe
The previous version of CCS can (but doesn't need to be) uninstalled prior to installing 2.3.

The main new features in version 2.3 are listed at http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/UserGuide/Intro/...WhatsNew23.html

There will be an official Beta announcement within the next few days. The main reason it will be released as a Beta version is to allow the Beta users to determine if their existing projects were not affected by the changes before recommending the upgrade to everyone else. Please backup your projects before installing the new version.

One thing that I have found in the beta is under 2.2 -> Project ->
Settings for the Date it puts in ShortDate, This same project which I
tried to publish under 2.3 will give me an error message when it
comes to the ShortDate. I had to change it to mm/dd/yyyy in the
Settings of Project before it will generate without an error. Just
FYI

Studio 2.3 Beta breaks Coldfusion Scripting Language on a Project
that is working under 2.2. I have not been able to solve the error at
this time.

CCopenRS.cfm: Line 70

Invalid CFML construct found on line 1 at column 15

From this message and my understanding is the error message is on
line 70 but then it tells me that it has to do with line 1 column 15
and of the same file, line 1 is an html comment.

One Suggestion regardning CFML and Codecharge.

Have the ability to move all <cfapplication> tags from the various
files into a file called application.cfm. An application needs only
one cfapplication tag as multiple cfapplication tags tends to mess
the code up and if a developer is doing anything with session
variables, they will get lost. Or have a way that codecharge can have
a option as to create the application with a cfapplication tag or not.

In my projects where I am trying to learn and user codecharge, we
already use cfapplication for session management and when I generate
code with codecharge I have to comment out the generated
cfapplications to allow the code from codecharge to work with my
established variables.

Graham,

Would it be possible to receive your non-working CCS 2.2 CFML project (actually just a sample page) at http://support.codecharge.com ?
Thank you.

Please note that CodeCharge Studio 2.3 Beta was officially released today. More information at http://support.codecharge.com/updates.asp
This version is only slightly different from the Beta 2.3 pre-release announced here on May 27.

I'm using the .NET VB and ran into a few problems with previous projects generated fine using the CCS 2.2.3.60.

For example:
- Date picker for the Date fields reported errors. Support confirm the problem and said they have fixed for the final release.
- File encoding Western (Latin1) was my setting in CCS 2.2.3.60, it created error message and recommended to use None, system default.
- Memory leak somewhere, I have 512 MB of RAM and after working on a project for a period of time with changes and build and rebuild the project, my system reported low in memory, I have to exit CCS and open it again and its fine.

Plus a few more errors, and since this is the Beta release I am now reinstalling CCS 2.2.3.60 waiting for final version. Since the .NET user group is small using CCS I don't know if all the problems will be fixed for the final release. I hope Yes software testing with large complex projects to ensure all the bugs are gone before releasing it.

Over all I like CCS and hope that the new version will be completed soon.

Using 2.3b with JSP projects that worked on 2.2.60 & Java 1.3.1_10 & Tomcat 4.1.

Now getting exceptions, some related to encoding, eg

org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unsupported encoding: iso-ir-6

and some NPEs on application startup.

Try reseting the file encoding to none (System Default) and republish your project decastar.

Tried several (Western, US, UTF) but with same result.

Went back to 2.2.3.60 and it's working again.
