Here's something that I'd like to see (not sure if anyone else has mentioned
this), but support for multiple field primary keys in the builders.

I agree that support for composite primary keys is critical. I am not currently a user of CodeCharge, but its treatment of primary keys is a key question for me in deciding to purchase the product.

There are many cases where composite (multi column) key are better than single column keys. Composite keys make it possible to enforce certain integrity constraints through key structures alone. Also, in a high volume insert table, the addition of a single column key can actually slow down INSERT operations.

Please add this feature to the builders.

Thanks,

Bill

I hope someone from yessoftware reads and responds to this.

We support multi-field keys, just not in the builders.
If you are not a CCS user I recommend that you try the product and see that you can use them. It can take one minute to change your form after you use a builder, therefore we wouldn't consider it critical if it saves little time. We have many more features on our critical list that will save everyone many hours or days of work.

Of course no requests are ignored and multi-field keys are on our to-do list as well.

I would have to second the request also for multi-key primary key fields. I
just finished my latest CodeCharge project which had around 18 tables all
with multi-key primary fields. I had to manually add Custom Insert and
Custom Delete properties as well as change the datasource for every single
"maintenance" page. It was a real pain, and it took me several hours to get
right. I think this is a "critical" issue and should be taken more
seriously than you seem to be taking it. I have been using 4GL products
since 1994 and those products have always supported multi-key fields in
their wizards as well as several flavors of optimisitic concurrency.
