i want to rename uploaded file as i want the file to be stored by the same
name as the original file, i don't want the date to be stored with the
uploaded filename.
can anyone advise a good site which has ref to all file handling with asp.

Simply change the filename in the BeforeProcessFile event of the file upload
component. The Value property of the file upload components can be changed
so that the target file name is what you want instead of the default value.

for an already uploaded file.
