I need to export information from a CCS grid to Excel. I already have written PHP code to do this but I have a question as to the best way to include it in CCS. I realize that to use a button for this I must have a CCS object which contains a FORM. I really only want the information to be "read only". So is my best approach to create and "Editable Grid", remove the Insert, Update, Delete functionality and place my "Export" button on the Grid or is there a better CCS method for this?

Thank you for any advice.

You can add a link to another CCS page (rather than a button) and create the other page with the standard Grid and no header/footer or other components. Then you can specify in the page headers that this page should be opened directly in Excel.
