I need to convert a string to an expression
e.g. something like eval in javascript
e.g. x=eval("1 +4") will return 5
I am using c# and from the references there is no such command.
However, in common files of Javascript functions, I came across stringToRegExp function that may seem to do the trick.
Am I correct is assuming that? Any other thoughts are welcome

If you are asking about C# programming/functions then please post to the .NET forum.
Thanks

I was hoping to get some pointers from javascript gurus on this function and use of it.
I have taken your advise and posted on .NET group as well.
Thanks

I thought that you needed an equivalent of JavaScript's "eval" function for C#.
Otherwise if you already know about "eval" in JavaScript then why would you want to replace it with something else?
Also, try Google, for example: http://www.google.com/search?q=javascript+eval+c%23
