Should allow me to create the page with a <LINK> to the appropriate
stylesheet (so I see what it will look like), but NOT output the tag when
published (only the main page should do so). Generally harmless to let it
do this but not a proper thing in terms of w3 standards - is it? I am
concerned that some browsers might have a problem with this.

Do you mean for 'Include' pages?

Dreamweaver has a good feature which allows you to set 'Design time stylesheets' so that you can see the page's appearance within the program but no code is generated for the stylesheet on publication.

Actually on the subject of Dreamweaver I wish Codecharge would allow templates of some kind along the line of Dreamweaver. Most of my pages sit within one or two distinct templates and using CCS you have to create these each time you start a page. It is not suitable to just include a header / footer with the include option as you do not see the final result whilst designing. Also it gets a little messy when it gets beyond the basics.

As a work around I have been creating a template in Dreamweaver then using that as the basis for generating blank pages in CCS (by setting 'tools / options / paths') then any changes I want to make across the board, I use dreamweaver and it finds all the CCS code and updates it. This of course is not ideal as you have to use direct paths for images and you can only assign one html file in the options menu. (It also uses it every time you start a new project).

Got a little carried away here, think I had better open a new wish!

Darren.

Trying to abandon Front Page forever, can't figure out how to replace the 'include page' function. This is essential to one of my sites that is hundreds of pages large.

I bounce back and forth between dreamweaver, and Go Live

what is it you are including? There is an Include control/object in CCS.
The only thing you really need to what out for is that you don't include
includes (don't "nest" them).

The last time I tried, the including the includes worked just fine despite the warnings that I saw :-)
