Hi folks,
I've just started using codecharge for a big project and when testing came across this error - how would I fix this please?
I have only used the Application Builder to put the ASP pages together - no hand coding has been done.
Table 1: Staff Names (Name|Department|Barcode)
Table 2: Department Names (Department)
The Department field in Table 1 is linked to the Department field in Table 2. When looking at the page for table 1 it all works fine, including the look up of the department names in table 2. However, when looking at table 2 to edit etc I get the following error:
Form: Grid Department_Names
Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Department Name'. (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers)
Thanks for your help!

I think you have spaces in the table names (at least you typed them in your
message). Put brackets [] around them and see how that works.

Hi,
Thanks Don, all of my Access 2000 tables have underscores in ie department_names.
Any other ideas as this is getting rather frustrating!
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Steve.

Someplace you have a space, not an underscore, because the error message
shows it. Select the grid, go to Properties, and click the "..." to
examine the datasource. There is a Review Data button. See whether that
works or gives you the error.
Otherwise maybe a "find in files" to look for "department names" would find
it.
