I am considering the commitment to Code Charge.
My question of this group is, "Is it worth it?"
I come from the world of Clarion, a 4GL if ever there was one. So, CC
appears to be what I am looking for to continue with the same kind of tool.
What slows me down a little is the lack of response from tech support in
this forum to (what sound like) some pretty serious problems. I like the
Clarion product immensely, but, frankly I have had enough of developer-tool
companies that do not respond to their users.
Is that the case here?
Are they responsive?
Do they fix things?
When they do fix things, does it make other things break?
Are Windows security measures (and other issues) making CC projects fragile?

CC is worth 100%. Support is excellent, but you should use the support
system and not the free community board!

Short answer - yes, CC2.5 and CC2.7 are having some problems intermittently
in a few locations.
Seems to be related entirely to local machine configs as the reports are few
and random.
CCS on the other hand doesn't have the DHTML problems of CC2, but it does
crash from time to time.
I run both on the one machine- CC2 seems to be decaying with each Microsoft
IE security plug and Yes Software hasn't yet been able to provide a fix for
all demonstrated problems.
CCS works fine, apart from inexplicable crashes occasionally.

Hi Dave,
First, if you are going to purchase a product, purchase Code Charge STUDIO.
2nd, for some reason Yes Software personnel does not participate a lot on
these forums but ... you can ask any questions in the Support area of
www.codecharge.com and you will definitely get a response. You can always
use the www.gotocode.com community section but I don't particularly like it.
Should you buy it? yes.

Buy CC or CCS. I would suggest if you are a non programmer go for CC and if
you do have some programming experience with Clarion go for the CCS.

I have a rule: "Never buy software that you will not use within a week of
receiving it."
I will (ultimately) plunge.
