OK, I have been making sites with GoLive for several years, and making
databases with FileMaker for several years, and writing VisualBasic programs
for several years.
Now I need to put some MySQL databases up on a website with PHP4, and I'm
having a heck of a time getting my foot in the door.
I downloaded and installed PHPTriad, and trial PHP pages work perfectly.
MySQL is listed as an active process, so I assume it's working.
Now I'm trying to get some sort of response out of CC, and am running into
large brick walls. All of the key information I need to know seems to be in
the Properties/Database screen, and absolutely none of the help information
provides me with any answers.
I have finally managed to stumble my way into a set of settings which do NOT
result in an when I generate, but then the web browser refuses to let me
access the database (or says it doesn't exist at all) when I access
apache/htdocs/login.php.
I can see how CC makes databases, and that all looks pretty straightforward,
but until I can learn how to make a database and find a way to talk to it,
I'm not going to make much progress. Are there are tutorials for this flavor
of dummy out there? On the web or in print?
(Win2000NT with all the latest updates and drivers, BTW).
