I don't even know where to start but at least this is a beginning.
I'm using window 98, my host is
Is it possible to design one way and to publish to the server another?
example. I can open up any example supplied with CC and make it work on my
computer using ASP. However, my server is Unix. Comes with MySQL and php
etc.
I have tried to get the design working with the language set to php 4 and
templates, but no matter what I try I can't get it to work. Works fine if I
select ASP 2 and templates.
So if I just want to put the "events" sample on my server as is making no
changes, is it possible to select PHP 4 and templates and just publish to my
server?
I don't know why I can't understand the process, I've done more difficult
things on the Internet. But seriously I have tried on and off since February
with no success. Well, I take that back. I was originally hosted on a NT
server, and I was actually up and running in about 20 minutes.
I've read through the tutorial several times, I've read tutorials on MySQL,
php, ODBC, but none of it makes any sense to me, I need to see something
actually working before I start tweaking, if that makes any sense.
As soon as I switched to UNIX my nightmare began.

If you want to create cross-platform applications, you need to replicate
every bit of custom ASP code in PHP. It easy, as long as you know both
languages.
It should be a lot easier if you install both PHP and MySQL in your
development machine. Then test the code before uploading to your server.
