somehow i can't get my webpage to work with the database.. is there a book
or help i can read about this issue?

Please give us more detail. "can't get my webpage to work with the
database" is so vague we couldn't possibly point you in the right direction.
The Code Charge tutorial is well done for this plus all the examples...but
again, it's hard to say since we don't know much.
