I have just purchased both CC and CCS and have been working with the
examples. My problem is what web server software to use and where to
get it. I'm using Windows XP Profession . Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Apache: http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/
In my opinion there is no other choice.

It depends on whayt type of web app you are developing. If you are
developing PHP then Apache, if ASP then IIS. Those are the two mainstream
lowend ones.

Yes, low-end. If you really wish to spend a ton of money you can go buy
websphere or Sun's server. I am referring to reasonable cost not
performance. I have no comparisons for performance and a clean comparison
would be very difficult to create because of the differences in not only the
platforms but the languages used to run on each one (IOW, I wouldn't create
an ASP site running vbScript to run on Apache and I probably wouldn't create
a PHP site to run on IIS...yes each is possible but not optimal). Please,
Ron, you are beginning to sound like a "purist" (one who espouses nothing
but what they use regardless of the facts) for Linux/Apache...I won't go
there because I believe in diversity. Thanks for the input though.
