Why Isn't Listbox Primed?

I have afield on my record that can contain the value Home, Office, Mobile.
This field has one of the values. I have also placed these values in the
Select of the Listbox. If the record on my database has Mobile, why, when
the record is show on the Record Update form, does the Listbox not show
Mobile? It always shows the 1st entry defined in the select. How do I tell
it to show me the value that is on the record?
