Yo CCS somebody changed the post display?

As I was evaluating the post the greater than sign seems to change to a
sharpsign number combination is it a CHR() hexa value ???

Will this mislead the forum posts especially when coding answers

< - less than
> - greater than
?? others

oh maybe it's just the display on lower IE version :)
