For all of you interested in a thread-based forum exmple using CSS

I have modified the orig. forum example provided with CCS and extended it with a tree-like view that displays the whole discussion thread. You can also reply to individual messages and replies, not only to the first message. Use this example for your specific forum implementation if you want. I guess that's something people waiting for quite a while.

Go to the specified link and download the example and find some more infos.

I just added a demo site that shows the new features without having to install the project. Check it out.

do you have this forum on ASP format? thank you!
But

thats fine..
But when someone responses to the original messsage why the new author's name is not displayed on the front of the forum.
What I mean is--lets say that John created an original forum on Dec 10th.
Then on the front of the forum it will display John as an aouthor and the date he enetered.
But when Sam comes to the thread on dec 11th and enters a reply, then Sam is not displayed on the front of the forum.
This is not good. becuase again if John comes to the forum and he sees that nobody has replied. becuase his name still shows on the thread even is Sam has entered a reply.

Another problem with your forum is that if I enter a reply to the old threads then that thread should come to the top of the list in the forum but it still stays at the original position.

I just finished building a forum for my family's website. It is very basic at the moment, but I am slowly increasing functionality as I get time. Right now it uses rteditor (free CCS WYSIWYG) for posting/replying, moves to the top when it is updated, and displays the member information.

If people are interested, I can post it for demo and download.

Ok, I've put a demo site up with download. Give it a try.
