Individuals have a right to receive a notice of privacy practices NSG 486 Week 4 Assessment Part 2 that describes how PHI may be used and with whom it is shared. This notice must be provided in a clear and concise manner. As long as it is for treatment purposes, HIPAA allows doctors to discuss a patient's condition with other medical professionals who are treating the patient.
