They work, they don't work. Why are they so flacky?
I tried both the CCS ajax feature and CCT.
Last resort rebuild the page
Anyone got these to work consistently?

I've taken all other js stuff off the page, still not working.
Anyone know what else could stop this feature working?
Note; it works fin on another page?

Well I've spent a day on this, usually sorted by now.
Can other files get damaged like the prototype.js file?

The form that has these dependent listboxes is included on the page. If it's not binding properly what would cause that?
I have another form doing the same thing that works fine.
Sometime CCS can be a nightmare:#

Found pat of the problem. I'm using jquery on the page and prototype and jquery don't play nice.
So I have to use the CCT option. It's not working yet....

So the question now is "what would stop the CCT plugin working?"
Bearing in mind it works on other pages.

OK I've narrowed it down to this...
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'substring' of undefined
still need to find the answer.

So much time spent on an unreliable feature... Why?
It is so easy to create custom dependent listboxes that work 10x better, use single PHP service you have complete control over... Manage error display, logout events (if needed), whatever you need.
All that done via asynchronous AJAX calls to server, so you don't refresh whole page or parts of it (like update panel does), instead single or set of controls you really need.
jQuery widget, jQueryUI combobox example <- those I have started with, built my own jQuery widget set, which I am constantly improving. You can leverage Object JS design and start small and simple and then overload for much more features...
