Guys, I've been trying to re-install my old 4.3 project on my new server, and things just aren't working. Got in touch with Yes, and they said that 4.3 was a 32-bit app, so if I wanted to get things to work correctly, I had use a 32-bit version of MySQL, ODBC connector, and I'm guessing that it also has to be on a 32-bit version of Linux?
Anywho, I'm not sure if my VPS provider offers a 32-bit version of CentOS (or any other Linux), and I'm wondering if I can convert my 4.3 project to 5.1 and solve some problems? Is 5.1 64 bit?
Best Regards,

So, CentOS 64-bit is ok. Great. Guess all I'd have to do is install a 32-bit version of MySQL and be done with it, I hope.

CCS will only publish code generated. For LAMP, the architecture
matters not. Note that you're only using the MySQL ODBC driver for
connections from your
Windows development platform to the database, which should be local
(ie: WAMP). On your LAMP or production system, your database
connections are made via direct socket or TCP, not ODBC.
But to avoid this kind of confusion, it would be nice if Yes Software
stepped into the new millennium and compiled the app for 64 bit
already.

Would also be nice if they engineered the .dll responsible for the cut/paste operation properly as part of the process.

Thanks for the reply, guys.
I dloaded the proper connector. Was using the 64-bit connector. Things should be ok now. Thanks for the info!

Version 5.0 will give you a 'Direct to MySQL' connection option, which
will use the TCP socket connection to MySQL, thus not requiring an ODBC
driver, and subsequently allowing you to use the 64-bit version of MySQL
on your development platforms. I suggest one and all to use this method.
As for version 5.1, it is still in Beta, and from the looks of it will
be for awhile. 5.0.0.16254 is quite steady and reliable.

I'd be more than willing to do this; however, the site was generated using 4.3, and others here have told me that it might be better/easier to just keep it 4.3 and not convert it over to 5.0.
Is this still the case? All subsequent sites will definitely be using 5.*.
Best Regards,

I've not encountered unconquerable issues converting 4.3 projects to 5.0.
