I have a grid that has a Label that is populated by a Before Show Row code.

Is there to use the search box to filter out records that match what is in that Label?

Walter are dearly missed.

All depends if you are able to filter the DataSource by this value, or by some value in DataSource that can be related to this value from search box.

For example if your Before Show Row fetches a name of a category, when in DataSource for your grid you have the category id, then it is possible, because you know that the ID is connected to the category. Same goes for relations spanning more tables, views, etc - as long as you can do a valid relation.

If you fetch some value not connected to the grid DataSource, then I would say it would be very difficult to do. You would have to override how the grid is outputted to do it on the fly. Also you would have a very difficult task in setting up grid pagination correctly.

Without specific example it's hard to say either way.
