I notice that in 5 there is no html 5 support????

but the question that has been racking my brain is I have a grid

like this

here is my grid

now lets say that the above is 100 px wide and 100 pix long in stead of the grid doing this

I want there to be a space in the coloms

any one got any ideas

HTML 5 support is really a browser capability, not a CCS limitation.
CCS generates the appropriate tag <HTML>, which is all that is needed.
You can still program all the HTML5 features into your app.

Pad the bottom of your grid to create the spacing you need.

What you describe is not even really HTML 5. What you describe is proper use of CSS and this can be easily achieved using HTML 4.x.
