Hi - I wonder if you have any ideas?
I'm using ASP, Access and have an editable grid on which I'm doing a custom insert to save repeating information beying keyed in per row. I have this working fine for userid and date variables. I'd also like to insert a random number into a field using the same process. I have written a fucntion to generate a simple randon number based on the session ID, however I have no idea how to get that to work with the custom insert. I tried just using the function name and I get nothing...seems I'm missing something really simple but I'm stumped...Any ideas please?
Thanks,
Scott.

in the before show event of the page can you put a response.write( myrandomnumfunction() ) and see if the page is connected to the function, or use a label on the page with and retrieve a value for it before showing that calls your function.
if that works, then I'd check the field setup in your insert settings is using an expression instead of URL (sorry if I'm assuming you might not know this).

Kevin - thanks. It's been a while sice I used CCS and am extremely rusty, but that has really helped me on both counts and is now working. Sincere thanks,
Scott.
