obdc works fine if i put in the info its just when i add the database info in codecharge 5
like if i go to connection select obdc and test it works now when i go out still in connections
if i click on connections and it brings up modifiy connect simple add the db info crash and lockups if i go to expert and connect directly to mysql lock up or crash
if i select obdc and when i pull up obdcand test connection is successful nowif i add that info then to the to the design connectionpart and the server connection part it locks up andstops responding

will,
I am sorry you are having these problems with CCS 5.
Please don't conclude the lack of responses to your thread as others unwillingness to help.
I, like many others, am not totally sure why you are experiencing this issue with CCS 5.
I have CCS 5 working well on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.... I have not installed any MySQL ODBC driver(s)... I am just using the built in direct to MySQL
Perhaps you have an ODBC driver issue? You may already know this, but Windows 7 64-bit has both 64-bit and 32-bit ODBC drivers available to it.
In order to see the 32-bit drivers you have to run "odbcad32" instead of just the ODBC in the control panel.
I am confident if you could install CCS 5 on a plain Win 7 64-bit machine it will work.... it HAS to an issue with some other conflicting driver or software on your current installation.
I hope you get it working soon.... the more CCS 5 developers out there, the better it will be for everyone.

Will,
This sounds very similar to the same issues I had trying to do the same thing. I have an open case still with support for over a month with no response.

The way I am reading your post the problem sounds like when you publish the CCS 5 project to your local WAMP or XXAMP server, the published web application cannot connect to a MySQL database which is running on your local computer.
Please advise either yes or no to this diagnosis?
If this is not the case, then is the problem a failed test connect to the server in the modify connection settings dialogue within the project?
Please advise either yes or no to this diagnosis?

If not already, you need to be interacting with support on this and not
the forum. Send them the same error messages. I noticed that your
error dialog refers to version 5.0.0.0, which isn't the latest.
Again, run through support.

I'm having connection issues too when deploying the application. At design time, the preview pages show correctly. When I deploy the application, the data pages does not show at all, nothing goes out after a while waiting for the server.
The connection settings I set on CCS are correct because I use other applications not CCS generated and they work perfectly.
I'm on windows 7, mysql 5.1.49-community, CCS5.0.0.16254
Any suggestions?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
This problem has been solved! The change I made was to use the address 127.0.0.1 instead of the name localhost. The localhost name works fine at design time but not after the project has been deployed.

I too have a problem which may be related. W7 x64 and latest version of CCS 5. After installation and while the program was running I experienced intermittent mouse freezing for about 15 mins then the system blue screened. After system restore and then system repair all is well again, but I have not yet reinstalled CCS5. Anyone having similar problems? Regards Russell

Default demo application with CCS using direct MySQL access vs MySQL via
ODBC seems to to behave differently.
As an example, I recently installed the demo task manager, and changed
the db access from odbc to direct MySQL, to realize it will not work,
some of the SQL statement calling the statement TOP, which exists in
Oracle but not in MySQL (have to use LIMIT X,Y). I started replacing the
TOP with LIMIT, but the revert use of the ODBC driver fixed everything,
i.e. the ODBC drivers seemed to take care of the difference.
Maybe your problem was related to that. Can anyone validate that the
ODBC driver does perform such conversion on our behalf (TOP to LIMIT) ?
Regards,
LP
