I have just tried using a CCS (asp) site with an SQL Azure - hosted database.

Initial observation is that it works using the normal CCS SQL Server connection setting.

A few changes had to be made to database structure because of non-supported features.

My first impression is that it is not particularly fast. It seems slower than the previous (cheaply hosted) database.

Does anyone else have any experience of SQL Azure?

Well, it seems to speed up with wear: the site is running very well now on the Azure database. No faster but no slower than before.

The biggest bottleneck is the developer tools. SQL Management Studio has a lot of features removed when working with Azure - annoyances mostly, but it slows you down. Backup is not so straightforward as with SQL Standard, but it is possible.
