Hi,
I am buildinga report and would like to add a filter the user can use to filter the result
But when I am on step 8 of 9 in report builder the option is disabled
Is there a reason why I cannot add a search box?
thanks

lulazz,
Have you figured this out or do you still need assistance?

Hi,
I just figured out that I cannot add the filter on results from a query with joins on different tables
thanks

lulazz,
I don't think it is just the fact that you have two tables in the datasource. I get the filter options with two or more joined tables.
What tends to disable various options (including filtering) is
- using a stored procedure as the datasource
- using an SQL (rather than Table) datasource-type (even with only one table selected)
To try again, click the Build Query next to Datasource box (Step 2). Ensure that "Table" is selected in the top left combo-box (not "Procedure" or "SQL"), and construct the query in the visual query builder panel.
Good luck
Andrew
