Had to explain yet again today to a potential customer why my developing
in CodeCharge benefits them, while also explaining that the product can
do so much more visually than what's presented by the makers of the
software. I actually try to avoid the conversation by sending them to
sites we've made, or others have made, but inevitably anyone with a lick
of sense will find the makers of the software.

How do you explain that to someone that hasn't a clue what CodeCharge
is? It's like trying to sell someone on your car restoration expertise,
while driving around in some rust-infested OldsmoBuick! It's
embarrassing and makes you look like a dayam fool.

Hell, send me your databased content and I'll do it for FREE in a week!
Anything to avoid what I went through today.

Agree 100%
The sad thing is also that CCS doesn't produce modern looking page layouts even with the help of Artisteer.
I'm not sure why they think that supplied styles should look like they were designed by a half-blind technician who could see only the darkest black, bright orange and green colours?

I'm offering to Yes my services as well for FREE (as datadoit did above) to design several better looking default styles.

I totally agree with You Data!!!!! I voluteer to help U with the YES site.. LOL..
I never tell anyone I use CCS as a framework LOL.. But as we both know.. Yes is not working on CCS as a viable product in their lineup anymore. We have seen to much decline to believe they are.

@Georges But it is possible to build Nice looking sites with CCS.. Just takes more work than Point and Shoot in the CCS IDE.

Here is one example I am just now finishing.

http://webtestinglive.com

And many other users have done so as well
Here is a good look at some pretty nice designs done in CCS.

I will probably continue to use CCS as a development too.. I have learned many workarounds for CCS Bugs..

I could not agree more, if Yes Software had a better experience for potential customers with their own website, better looking sample applications, etc. they would in all likelyhood convert more people to customers. I really like CCS as a RAD tool, but it is sooo 1990's for all the visual stuff. I see that a few people have volunteered their time to help Yes get into the 21st century, it is stunning that they do not take them up on the offer. If CCS had more developers using it the community would yield more solutions, widgets, examples, mind share, etc. which would actually lead to MORE SALES for Yes. If Yes is dropping this product then they should Open Source it so we can continue to improve as a community. I see that CCS 5 beta is available so someone must be working on something!

Just my $0.02

As soon as you get CCS5 to market (can't you feel the tension?) you guys have got to just spend a week overhauling your web site.

It is so 1990s...

First impressions count!
