Hi
I have just created a new development environment using Windows 7 Professional and IIS 7.5. I am also new to Code Charge and just creating the simple Hello World example.
This is the issue.
1 – When I run the project on the internet explorer browser with just a blank page the page comes up properly

2 – If I then add the VB script that the Hello World example asks for and run it I get a “The website cannot display the page” (which is error code HTTP 500).

3 – I believe IIS 7.5 needs to be configured to allow the VB script to run but I do not know where.

Any help would be great. My email isgullarver@hotmail.com. Many thanks Gunnar

1, make sure that you are actually seeing the asp and not the html file - eg setup you default docs in iis to display index.asp for example

2. switch off friendly error messages in IE - so that you see the real error and not the nice iis error page - this way you will be able to easier debug

3. permissions - you'll find it where you can set dir browsing as activee, script 7 executable permissions

Hi TheunisP and thanks for help

Enviroment - Windows 7 Professional IIS 7.5

1 - "Setting Default Docs". In the "application level" of IIS I clicked on the "IIS - Default Document". Now the only page that I have in my project is "HelloWorld.asp" so I made this the default. Still the same result (The Web Site cannot display the page). I did the same process by adding the "index.asp". While doing this I made sure to "restart" IIS and "restart" Code Charge.

2 - Still at "applicaion level" in IIS I clicked on the "IIS - ASP" icon. In here, under "Debbugging Properties" I set what the "Enable Client Side Debugging" to true. And "Enable Server Side Debbugging" to true. Then restarted IIS & Code Charge and still the same outcome. No other debugging messages

3 - "Permissions". Now when I start "Code Charger" I right click and select "Run as Administrator". Now I am unsure of what you mean "set dir browsing as activee, script 7 executable permissions". Again at "application level" in IIS there is an icon called "Directory Browsing" and I clicked on this. I then enabled this feature. In here there was nothing that resemebled the statement "set dir browsing as activee, script 7 executable permissions". After this process I restarted IIS and Code Charge. Yep still the same outcome.

Again when I take the VB Script out and I view the url "http://localhost/NewProject4/HelloWorld.asp" the page comes up fine.

4 - I do not know if this helps but below is part of the "Logging info"

Many thanks for your help. Best wishes Gunnar

#2 must be set in IE - options, I think advanced - you will see an option ticked "Show friendly error ..." - untick it

#3 is a permission setting in IIS - in your sites default permissions you must give it scripting permission - also someone mentioned that ASP might not be on by default - but this is in IIS not on Codecharge that it needs to be set

1) Try with a Simple HTML First
to make sure IIS is OK

2) Then go With ASP to make sure ASP is installed
try something simple

<%
response.write "HELLO WORLD"
%>

waiting for reply
