I have a medium sized application with lots of form with upload capabilities. The app is written in ASP.net C# and INMOTION.

In order to store the uploaded file I have to specify a root directory (c:\inetpub...).

We plan on selling the application. Does anybody know a way to bypass the indication of a root directory (e.g. ..\Uploads\Files) as it is too much work for a client to open the forms and change the upload directories as each server might have different roots.

Any help is appreciated !

Why dont you do same that Issue Manager - free example in CC user area. It uses ../../uploads folder entered in upload component properties.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried that, and it works great in ASP. But our app is written in ASP.net C# Inmotion. And I get an error saying that a ROOTED directory is required.

I'm talking about C# InMotion because the example in customer area is written in C# InMotion. But I see now that it uses Before Show code to set upload path programmatically so the path is configured in admin and stored in database. Look at it, test it, etc.
