It's just a graphical representation of the menu, giving you the ability
to not have to constantly open the menu to choose a menu item. If you
don't like it, then you have the ability to hide it and use the normal
menu. It is not a direct comparison to the Micro$oft Office ribbon. To
see what it's really all about, download Artisteer.

Hi,
I wonder how many people actually want a graphical representation of a menu?
Anyone ever thought to ask the users what they want rather than what the developers
THINK we want!
I have tried "Artisteer" and have not bought it because I did not like the feel of nor want
the menu system they have. I was able to hide the menu but not able to a find the standard
Menus as you call it.
As to the Micro$oft Ribbon Menu I am convinced it is the M$ Ribbon in use.

it is all about screen real estate - the ribbon waste valuable space - and it sucks as a navigation tool
newer is not always better, as this control shows
