I would retrieve the login of the computer with Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_USER")

I would check it against a table that has the following fields:

username (contains the remote_user list of names to check against)
group1 (yes or no indicating if access allowed)
group1admin (yes or no indicating if access allowed)
group2 (yes or no like above)
group2admin (yes or no like above)
group3.....

Each group has a subfolder off the main site. group 2 folder pages would check against username and if it = yes and proceed accordingly. One person can be admin for all groups or just a reader for some and admin for others and maybe even no access to some (which is why I have group fields to represent each sub folder).

Is this approach feasible (would not require any login beyond logging in to your machine) ?
If so, I assume I would set up a before show event to check this, How would I do that?
