I have started trialing artisteer and found that they use a variable {page:pathToRoot}. This variable is used in the following context:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="{page:pathToRoot}style.ie6.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
This works quite well, if you move the file to any folder the css file is linked using e.g. '../../'. However if you go to design view none of the css displays. I'm guessing the ccs parser doesn't look at attributes in the rendering process.
So my proposal is to evaluate the variable {page:pathToRoot} before rendering the css in design view.
