Why do I get this error??
Unable to establish connection to database.
a.. Error information:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default
driver specified
b.. Other possible cause of this problem:
The database cannot be opened, most likely due to incorrect connection
settings or insufficient security set on your database folder or file.
For more details please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q306518
My Database is MS SQL 2005 and I've created the Datasource using ODBC
administrator
Surly security of the "folder" is only relevant to file based (ie. MDB)
databases???

Could be several reasons and it's best to research such issues on Google.
Though first I would check to make sure that you created a System DSN, not User DSN.

bills,
Are you able to get to SQL Server through the SQL Management Consol?
If you are, did you use windows authentication or did you use a user name and password like 'sa' and 'your password'.
If you don't have SQL Client installed on your computer - thus the ODBC connection, have a look at the authentication type that you're using at the ODBC level.
You need to provide more information.

I have the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (2005) Installed
My CodeCharge and IIS is on the same PC
For my System DSN (called TEST1) I've used Windows authentication
I've also created a User DSN called TEST2 which uses 'sa'
Connection Test works fine as either User or System DSN !
I use a similar setup with MySQL and it works fine!!
