I'm testing out using MySQL as our database system and I'm having a few problems. First, moving an Access database to MySQL did fine, but every date field that was empty is now field with the date/time I transferred the database to MySQL. I don't know why it did this, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix. Some SQL queries can find and replace these with null values.
Using the mysql with my asp pages, I've noticed that if you submit a form without putting a date in a date field, when you go back to this form and view the contents of this record, it puts today's date into that field. Since I submitted the form with an empty date field, I would assume it would just keep that field empty in the database. I don't know what is going on.

looks like it has something to do with mysql front converting access date type to a timestamp type. That seems to be causing the hiccup

Not sure if this is an option for you, but in the past I have used some software from http://www.bullzip.com/products/a2m/info.php
which worked okay for me. It's free, though donations are accepted.
I don't recall having any issues with any fields.

Well, these issues were happening with MySQL 4.0.23 and using MySQL Front (free version) to import Access DB into MySQL.
We upgraded to MySQL 5.1, and used the Migration Tool in the MySQL GUI Tools 5 and it worked perfectly.
